3 Cosmetic Dentistry Options to Transform Your Smile

When you’re ready to brighten discolored teeth, cover chips, or bridge gaps, cosmetic dentistry offers a variety of solutions.
Danny Jeon, DMD, provides a range of cosmetic dentistry procedures, from veneers to whitening, to revitalize your smile at his office in Tucker, GA.
3 popular cosmetic options
Here are some of the most common cosmetic dentistry options.
1. Whitening
Whitening your teeth at our office utilizes a more powerful solution than over-the-counter kits. Dr. Jeon:
- Makes a mold of your teeth
- Sends the mold to the lab to create plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth
- Provides you with a whitening mixture to use at home
Depending upon the level of whitening desired, we recommend using the trays for 30 minutes two times daily or while you sleep for about two weeks to achieve your appropriate shade.
2. Veneers
We offer a simple procedure for covering chipped or cracked teeth. Dr. Jeon bonds thin porcelain or resin shells, called veneers, to the fronts of your teeth to hide imperfections. If you choose porcelain, our team:
- Removes a small amount of tooth enamel
- Takes impressions of your teeth
- Sends these to a lab to fashion custom veneers
- Fits them to your teeth during a subsequent appointment
Alternatively, resin composite veneers require only one visit. Dr. Jeon builds them directly onto your teeth in a single session. However, they may not be as sturdy as porcelain veneers.
3. Crowns & bridges
Our team uses dental crowns and bridges for both restorative and cosmetic purposes. We utilize custom crowns created from porcelain or acrylic fused to metal to cover broken, decayed, or chipped teeth. We also employ crowns to transform misshapen teeth or gaps.
Dr. Jeon installs a dental bridge with a pontic (artificial tooth) to fill a gap created by a missing tooth, as long as you have two viable teeth on both sides to support the missing tooth.
We use a range of bridges, including:
Traditional bridge
A traditional bridge employs two crowns on both sides of the artificial tooth. Dr. Jeon bonds a custom-made porcelain tooth to capped teeth on both sides. This works best for patients with crowns or healthy teeth on both ends of the gap.
We also employ dental implants to support an artificial tooth, when appropriate.
Improve your smile
Dr. Jeon offers a variety of options to enhance your smile through cosmetic dentistry. Some procedures strengthen your teeth as well as improve their appearance.
